REWARD FOR A CURE

Today is Rare Diseases Day, and I am highlighting Post-SSRI Sexual Dysfunction (PSSD), an adverse outcome that can persist even after stopping antidepressants like Paxil and Celexa. Many individuals with this distressing condition do not regain sexual functioning, and as of yet there is no effective treatment or cure. This results in profound suffering for many and for some, suicide. Post-finasteride syndrome (PFS) is a similar condition experienced after taking the hair loss drug Propecia. Enduring sexual dysfunction has also been reported by patients after taking the acne treatment Accutane.

REWARD: The drug safety organization at Rxisk.org has raised over $100,000.00 to reward whomever finds an effective treatment or cure for this condition. Anyone who comes up with an effective treatment could claim this reward.
